Outstanding corporate team contributor—a solutions specialist

Human Resources generalist and recruiting/training professional

Extensive experience with large and complicated payrolls and compensation

Management operations and consulting expertise in competitive environment

During my employment history, and with every assignment I have accepted, I have devoted my energies toward being a good steward of available resources. I attribute my ability to improve the operational performance of my employer almost immediately to my resourcefulness and creativity.

Dear Mrs. Smith,

For almost 20 years, I have been at the forefront of initiatives that have positioned organizations to support significant growth, and have turned around floundering and problematic divisions to regain the respect of the people they serve. I have conceived new ideas to strengthen core services to customers, project-managed new infrastructure initiatives, and maintained the morale of “the troops” despite periods of instability and change.

Considered a senior executive with a combination of vision and corporate realism, I have been acknowledged
for my capacity to harness the enthusiasm and talents of others, identify core issues, and exploit the necessary
resources available to stretch funds and achieve management objectives in healthcare and medical environments.

Experience of this magnitude hasn’t been developed overnight; successes have been hard won, and commitment has been tireless. Yet the rewards of seeing an idea take hold of people’s imaginations for better and more responsive service delivery remains to this day one of my greatest motivators, and it is a skill I’m keen to demonstrate for my next employer as I meet the next challenge of my professional life.

Eager to tackle new opportunities, my last major role as Vice President, Business Delivery, consulting primarily to medical, healthcare, and education sectors, has now concluded. I have transformed what was a new business unit into a vital, responsive operation that delivered strong productivity increases and growth in just two years.

And now the time is ripe for a new challenge. Broad-based knowledge across diverse sectors and specialist executive consultancy experience in healthcare and medical sectors position me well for joining your leadership team.

Experienced in hospital operations; case management; and all the economic, procedural, and staff issues inherent in such environments, I believe I can bring a unique skill set to the role of hospital CEO. Having worked closely with senior executives in major healthcare facilities and hospitals, I know and understand the complexities of the healthcare system, the infrastructure, and how to position the organization for genuine growth. I see significant opportunities in aligning myself with ATCT Hospital, opportunities I’m keen to tackle and achieve measurable successes in, for our mutual benefit.

Naturally I would be delighted to explore your needs in detail at an interview and can arrange to meet at a mutually convenient time. In the meantime, my resume is attached for your review, and I can be contacted at the numbers provided. Thank you for your time and consideration, and I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Sincerely,

Dear Dr. Smith,

With my upcoming graduation from Sharon Regional Health System School of Nursing, I am excited about using my nursing skills to provide patient care at your facility.

As you review my resume, you will note that this is a second career for me. I spent several years as a stylist, where I gained much experience in interacting with the public and providing excellent customer service. These interpersonal skills, combined with my acquired clinical skills, will enable me to make positive contributions to the healthcare team at your facility. I am confident you will determine that my clinical skills meet those established by you. Let me share what Thomas Pepper, RN, MSN, Nursing Instructor, had to say about my performance:

Kristen performed head-to-toe assessments [and] is a very active learner. [She] demonstrates … a good knowledge base of disease process for each client … critical-thinking and problem-solving skills in caring for clients … [and] a caring attitude for all her clients.

Kristen is knowledgeable of the patients’ medical diagnosis. She is able to discuss and make connections to the patients’ past medical history and the current diagnosis. Kristen is able to perform nursing skills from previous classes [and] is also organized and communicates well with staff, patients, and families.

In anticipation that you would like to meet with me, I would be delighted to make myself available. I will call to determine a mutually convenient time. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Dear Dr. Smith,

If you could “design” the best practice manager for Medical Associates, would the following meet your needs?

A cash-flow expert who combines the realistic outlook of an auditor with the profitbuilding drive of an entrepreneur,

A productivity multiplier with a proven track record of leading diverse employees to greater productivity and loyalty,

A manager with a gift for freeing decision makers for the tasks only they can do, and

A dedicated administrator who can replace the distractions of business with peace of mind that comes from lessened liability and greater profits.

You have just read the 76-word version of my resume. You’ll find the complete document on the next pages. What you won’t find are the usual “summary of qualifications” and lists of responsibilities. In their places are more than a half dozen documented contributions that helped move organizations forward.

I enjoyed working for the state. And I was promoted twice in just eight months because the state valued my contributions. But my real calling is working in the private sector. Because I have a natural desire to fill people’s needs, I would like to hear about Medical Associates’ special requirements in your own words. I will call in a few days to find a few minutes to do that.

Dear Mrs. Smith,

News regarding your construction of the Arroyo Medical Center, scheduled to open in November, prompted me to contact you because of my long-term involvement in the healthcare field and because I admire Arroyo’s commitment to providing future-oriented, quality healthcare for its patients. Although I currently live in California, I plan to relocate to Colorado once I obtain suitable employment. I am enclosing my current resume for your consideration.

As my resume indicates, I have gained diverse experience in a hospital environment over the past several years. This has included frequent patient interaction and support, ranging from registration and appointment-setting to arrangements for critical care transport.
Because of my experience, dedication to providing excellent service, and enthusiasm for the healthcare field, I am confident I can make a worthwhile contribution to your organization. I would like to arrange an interview to discuss possible openings you might have where my experience would be an asset. I will call you next Thursday.

During my years as a bilingual educator, I have developed a keen understanding of the importance of student assimilation and respect for their native upbringing. These key principles make teaching bilingual students a rewarding and challenging career path.

Dear Mrs. Smith,

The enclosed resume and supporting documentation are presented for your review and consideration for acceptance into The Branch Bank’s Human Resources Associates Program. Ideally, this opportunity will develop and strengthen my skills and knowledge while exposing me to a broad spectrum of areas and challenges conducive to professional growth in the field of Human Resources.

I offer a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and tenure with The Branch Bank since June 2000 in the position of Senior File Clerk, Pre-Arbitration/In-Coming Collections Department. Initially, I joined this department as a temporary employee and proved myself as a team player capable of handling a heavy caseload while significantly improving the quality of office procedures. As a result, my current position was created for me on a permanent basis.

Further, to ensure the continuity of positive changes that I have brought to the department, I provide ongoing training to employees, a role I greatly enjoy. To date, I have been recognized and rewarded for my drive to go above and beyond what is expected of me, with recent contributions that include an interim position as a fully trained Auto Call Directory representative. I am confident that my education, record of excellence (including perfect attendance), and personal attributes (strong organizational, overall communication, and computer skills), combined with a firm aspiration to further my career in Human Resources, qualify me as a suitable candidate.

Although this application, along with my personnel file, illustrates my background well, I feel that a personal interview would better demonstrate my knowledge and abilities. Therefore, I would appreciate an opportunity to interview with you at a convenient time. Thank you for your review and consideration. I will contact you soon regarding the next step in the process.

Dear Mrs. Smith,

Please accept this letter and enclosed resume for the social studies position that is currently available within your district. As an experienced social studies teacher, I offer vast classroom exposure, a great deal of energy, and a commitment to the students.

Over the course of my career, I have taught both middle-school and high-school students in a variety of subjects, including U.S. History and Global History. Two years ago, my wife and I relocated to the Mohawk Valley from Albany, NY. Currently, I teach 8th-grade social studies in Herkimer Central School District. Prior to this, I taught for 14 years at Schenectady Central School District.

As a professional educator, my efforts extend beyond academics. I work hard at instilling a sense of school pride, building community awareness, and motivating students to set higher standards. In addition to general education, my teaching experience encompasses inclusion classes. With all my students, I take the time to connect with each one, demonstrating genuine sensitivity when working with those who have special needs. Through an ongoing process of planning, delivering, reflecting, and refining lessons, I am consistently successful at balancing individual needs with the NYS Standards & Assessments. I also have a proven record of success (98% passing rate) with the 8th-Grade Social Studies Assessment.

Most significant to my teaching ability is my enthusiasm for the material and appropriate sense of humor. Through these, I am able to engage students and facilitate the learning process. Daily lessons include classroom discussion of current events while activities focus on creating and using information for knowledge and understanding. I also highlight the modes of communication within the community and integrate technology and media into lessons. Whatever the topic, my goal is to emphasize the fact that knowledge and access to information are essential to responsible citizenship and participation in a democracy.

Thank you in advance for your time. I look forward to speaking with you to further discuss my qualifications and will call to schedule an appropriate time.

Sincerely,
